2020 has been an interesting year, with plenty of great smartphone line-up. All brands and models are different in terms of the design and its specifications. Smartphone manufacturers are actively promoting the new 5G networks, the concept of its screen display with an increased frequency of up to 120 Hz, and ultra-fast charging with power up to 100 watts. Although Samsung is the market leader of Android smartphones, other brands are slowly catching up to pursuit on their main goal of winning the hearts of the consumers. This cause the smartphone market to be diverse. However, since there is a wide selection of choices available, it might be slightly confusing for inexperience buyers. Therefore, we have chosen the top 7 best smartphone devices that you can consider to purchase in 2020 and the early 2021.
Xiaomi Mi 10T Series
The perfect flagship with an excellent price performance ratio. The main feature of the device is not even its top-end Snapdragon 865 chipset, but a gorgeous 144Hz IPS screen with a brightness of up to 650 nits. Equally pleasing is the large 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The smartphone offers an interesting design, premium body materials (metal and glass), excellent assembly and maintainability.
The smartphone is very compact, even with the 6.67-inch display due to the ultra-thin bezels around the screen. For amateur photographers, there is an interesting set of camera specifications: 64 MP + 13 MP + 5 MP macro. Super-detailed shots, great portraits, 8K video recording - these are all the basic features of Xiaomi Mi 10T. With the added support for 5G networks and Wi-Fi 6, we can get a chic smartphone with a low price tag.
Smartphones from OnePlus have long been called “flagship killers”. While this claim has lost its relevance now, the OnePlus 8T is one of the best representatives of 2020. Is this not an unfound statement? Not at all, as the device has a wonderful 6.55-inch, technically advanced display with a Fluid AMOLED matrix and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, supporting HDR10 +. The heart of the device is the top-end Snapdragon 865, it has an extensive set of cameras (48 MP + 16 MP wide + 5 MP macro and 2 MP depth), as well as a fresh version of Android 11.
Externally, this device is also not a miss. An elegant design with completely missing bezels around the display, a neat selfie camera in the screen, an interestingly designed unit with the main cameras and frosted glass combined with a metal frame. Just perfect!
Oppo Find X2 Pro
Would you say expensive? How about a AMOLED screen displaying up to 1 billion colors, having a resolution of 3168 x 1440 pixels and occupying more than 90% of the front panel? This is not to mention the top-end Snapdragon 865 chipset and a huge storage memory. The delights of the device do not end there, as it has an advanced camera system (48 MP + 13 MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom + 48 MP Ultrawide and 32 MP front camera) and fast charging at 65W.
The appearance of the device is fully consistent with its price - it looks expensive, and the "waterfall" screen with 3D-rounded edges adds to the greater solidity. Gorgeous build and premium body materials, elegant design, top-end processor - and yes, this device is clearly worth its money.
Apple iPhone 12 Series
iPhone 12, and especially the Mini version, are a hit in the first half of 2021. What's so special about this device? Firstly, the flagship processor (Apple A14 Bionic), is one of the best displays in the market (6.1-inches with Super Retina OLED matrix and peak brightness up to 1200 nits). Apple has upgraded its cameras, but not as much in terms of its processor as it has improved on their software – now, night mode and the portrait photos have become even better. Secondly, the iPhone 12 series are the most compact flagships in the world among all smartphones. The new MagSafe wireless charging system is a unique development that is only available for the iPhone 12 line-up. When buying an iPhone 12, you can be sure that you are receiving a premium device that is worth every penny you spend on.
Sony Xperia 5 II
Like the iPhone 12, the Sony Xperia 5 II offers a 6.1-inch high-quality OLED screen. However, it is the only thing they have in common since Sony has a 21:9 widescreen display. Thanks to this, the device is elongated, yet narrow, which adds convenience when using it with one hand. Like other flagships, the smartphone is made of metal and glass, with a top-end Snapdragon 865 processor and an interesting set of cameras: 12 MP + 12 MP Ultrawide + 12 MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom.
This is one of the few Sony flagships with a huge battery capacity - 4000 mAh, gains up to 50% capacity in just 30 minutes due to its fast charging capabilities. The Xperia 5 II is a content-focused device, due to the widescreen display and its ability to shoot 4K video with a frequency of up to 120 fps on its camera.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE
The FE index in the name of the smartphone stands for Fun Edition. In simple terms, this is a re-release of the flagship Galaxy S20, modified according to the fan's wishes. Galaxy S20 FE becomes slightly larger, the design is more angular, which allows Samsung to provide a more capacious 4500 mAh battery into the new product.
There are no fundamental differences between the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 FE, but the latter is newer, has a TV camera with 3x optical zoom. It has a more powerful charger in the kit and an advanced front camera - 32 MP. Protection of the case against ingress of water and dust according to the IP68 standard makes the device an ideal travel companion.
Xiaomi Pocophone X3
Not only flagships can be at its best – some of the best devices can also come with an excellent value for money. Pocophone X3 is just the case. With an adequate price tag, you can get an ultimatum middle-class device that you don't want to let go of.
A high-quality 6.67-inch IPS screen, a powerful Snapdragon 732G processor, a high 5160mAh battery capacity - all this makes it clear that we are facing an ideal representative of budget gaming. The cameras are no worse: 64 MP + 13 MP wide, 2 MP macro and 2 MP depth-camera. This allows you to take high-quality, detailed shots on a smartphone, in both macro mode and portrait mode. Thanks to its 33W charging, within 30 minutes, the smartphone will be charged to 60%.
On October 13, the American IT giant held a presentation dedicated to new smartphones: iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. For the first time in a while, the company showed not only an updated design, but also released a mini-flagship in the main line of gadgets. iPhone 12 Mini is kind of a replacement for the very first iPhone SE, as it is also incredibly compact and has today's top technical specifications. In this article, we will show you in details about all the iPhone 2020, and it will be interesting.
iPhone 12 Mini - Review and Features of the Smallest Smartphone
In an era where gadget manufacturers are not looking to shrink their devices, Apple has decided to approach the smartphone industry from a different angle. The device did not turn out to be inferior – but in fact, it is just a smaller version of the regular iPhone 12.
The body of the gadget is similar to the design of the older models. iPhone 12 Mini likewise has a new protective glass display, the toughest in the world - Ceramic Shield. Apple decided to cover the tempered glass with ceramic nanocrystals, due to which it became even stronger and more resistant to scratches. The back cover is simply the latest generation hardened Gorilla Glass, and the device comes with five colours: Black, White, Blue, Red, and Green. The side frame is aluminium, with protection according to the IP68 standard. The dimensions of the device is 131.5 x 64.2 x 7.4 mm.
The screen size is 5.4 inches at a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. Matrix OLED (Super Retina XDR), pixel density 476 ppi, maximum brightness reaches 1200 nits and there is support for HDR. The uniqueness of the iPhone 12 Mini is that it is substantially smaller than the 4.7-inch iPhone SE 2020 (or iPhone 7/8). That is, the device is clearly striving to become a hit of sales, since there has never been a full-fledged continuation of the 2016 iPhone SE until today.
The main camera is represented by a 12 MP module with an f/1.6 aperture, the wide-angle one also has 12 MP with f/2.4. The declared 2x optical zoom is the difference between wide-angle and conventional cameras in terms of the viewing angles, and the electronic zoom does not exceed 5x. Night mode and Smart HDR 3 for a more realistic shot is available for both modules. The gadget is powered by a powerful mobile processor - Apple A14 Bionic. It is 15% more powerful than its predecessor Apple A13 and Snapdragon 865+ and 30% more energy efficient.
Interestingly, the iPhone 12 Mini supports, like all other iPhone 12s, up to 15W MagSafe wireless charging. Regular wireless charging has a maximum power of 7.5W, while fast charging up to 20W. Although Apple itself did not talk about the battery capacity, it was experimentally found out that it does not exceed 2227 mAh. Although not much, it is more than the iPhone SE 2020 (there are 1821 mAh).
iPhone 12 - Review and Characteristics of the Classic Flagship
You won't have to say much about this iPhone, since it differs from the mini-version, consider the screen size and battery capacity. The display has increase to 6.1 inches, the capacity is up to 2815 mAh, and the dimensions are up to 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.4 mm. Everything else remained unchanged.
iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max - Two of the Best Apple Smartphones Ever
In many ways, the devices are similar to their younger brothers. All the same flagship Apple A14 Bionic, super-durable Ceramic Shield front glass, OLED-matrix in displays, etc. However, there are also major differences.

6.1-inch display with Full HD + resolution;
Minimum 128 GB and up to 512 GB of user memory;

Color Palette: Blue, Gold, Graphite, Silver.
We are all accustomed to the fact that new flagships are a combination of advanced technology and high price tag. In 2020, Google decided to approach the issue of creating an actual flagship in a radically different way. The Pixel 5 is more of a mid-range device than a top-end device, but it is also Google's most technologically advanced smartphone.
The smartphone is equipped with a modest by modern standard display with a diagonal of only 6 inches. Due to this, the device turned out to be compact - no more than 145 mm in height. Protective display glass - Gorilla Glass 3, Full HD+ resolution, 90 Hz refresh rate. The device has IP68 protection and supports wireless Qi charging.
The gadget is powered by a modern mid-level processor Snapdragon 765G paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Although this is not a top-end chipset, it is enough to perform tasks and optimise games. It is also sufficient for fast camera operation and 5th generation networks.
It is important that Google has finally made a smartphone with a large battery - as much as 4000 mAh with support for 18W fast charging. Indeed, this is a breakthrough for Google! It is also worth noting a new set of cameras in the device:
Main camera - 12 MP with f/1.7 aperture, optical and digital stabilization, slow motion video recording up to 240 fps and 4K @ 60 fps;
16 MP wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, viewing angle 107 degrees;
Selfie camera - 8 MP with f/2.0 aperture.
The device has not lost its usual stereo speakers, USB Type-C 3.1 version, as well as Bluetooth 5.0. There is an NFC module for contactless payments. There are two color solutions of the case: black and light green.
For three years in a row, Huawei has been releasing a budget device in the P Smart line - this time with the index 2021. The device is equipped with Huawei Kirin 710A processor, and is inclusive of its own app store and Huawei services. Therefore, you can safely use your smartphone without experiencing any inconvenience.
Huawei P Smart (2021) – Review
The new budget smartphone from Huawei traditionally offers a frameless design, and this time, the display is devoid of even a teardrop notch. The front camera is built into the hole in the display - this looks more modern and organic. The diagonal of the display is 6.67 inches, the resolution is Full HD+ (2400x1080 pixels), and the aspect ratio is 20:9.
According to the company, the usable display area reaches 90% and this is a really solid indicator. On the back of the device is the main quad camera, and nothing else. The back cover has three color variants: Black, Rose Gold and Emerald Green. The fingerprint scanner is located on the right side edge which is a fairly popular solution.
Huawei P Smart (2021) - Hardware and Cameras
The smartphone uses the proprietary Kirin 710A chipset as a processor. This is a mid-powerful processor that is more focused on stable performance with low power consumption. Naturally, the Kirin 710A allows you to play modern games. The smartphone comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage (memory cards are supported).
The main camera is a combination of four photo modules:
48 MP main camera with f / 1.8 aperture;>
8 MP wide-angle camera with a viewing angle up to 120 degrees (f/2.4);
2 MP depth sensor for portrait photos;
2 MP macro camera.
The front selfie camera has a resolution of 8 MP and is suitable for both video calls and high-quality selfies. In general, the photo capability of the smartphone is at a decent level - Huawei P Smart (2021) is in no way inferior to its competitors.
The device supports 5000 mAh battery capacity, as well as fast charging with a power of 22.5 W. Among all, it is worth noting the presence of Bluetooth 5.1 module, a Type-C connector, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and support for 4G networks with VoLTE. The smartphone works on the Android 10 operating system with the proprietary shell EMUI 10.1.
Some time ago, the world premiere of the new flagship from Sony took place - the new product is called the Xperia 5 II. The new product turned out to be a compact version of Sony's first flagship in 2020 - Xperia 1 II. However, the presented smartphone is much more interesting than it might seems at first glance. The new smartphone is not only better than the older model Xperia 1 II, but also much more affordable. The device received top-end hardware, an advanced display, cameras for professionals in their field - and all in a compact body. Yes, compact devices are a rarity in 2020, and then there's the flagship - we decided to take a closer look at the Xperia 5 II and talk about its strengths and weaknesses.
Xperia 5 II - Smart and Unique Design
The company decided not to follow global trends and on the back of the device, you will not see a square platform for cameras. The back is covered with hardened Gorilla Glass 5 with 2.5D rounded edges, and the frame is all-metal. It is a truly compact device in dimensions - only 158 mm high and 68 mm wide. The weight is also light - only 163 grams with a good battery capacity. The housing is protected against dust and moisture according to IP65 / IP68 standards.
The back cover offers a mirror finish, which is appealing, but the effect does not last long - it is instantly covered with fingerprints. The smartphone has not lost the 3.5 mm headphone jack, which sits on top of the device, and the fingerprint scanner is combined with the Power button, located on the right side edge. There is also a separate key for Google Assistant. And no, that's not all - even lower is the two-position camera shutter button (auto-focus + snapshot). On the front, there are all kinds of sensors, a camera, and loud stereo speakers!
Xperia 5 II – Top Display
The device is equipped with a compact 6.1-inch display, perfect for today's phone use scenario. All the magic lies in the 21: 9 aspect ratio - great for flipping through social media feeds. There are no cutouts in the display, only thin symmetrical frames at the top and bottom.
Full HD + resolution, OLED matrix, 120 Hz refresh rate. To improve the user experience, the manufacturer also increased the frequency of the touch layer to 240 Hz, to which the responsiveness of the screen is simply amazing. But to save battery in the settings, you can always set the usual 60 Hz display refresh.
But, that's not all: the display matrix supports BT.2020 HDR coverage with Creator mode and calibrated by the professionals at CineAlta. At the same time, no one forbids calibrating the screen to your taste - such an option is provided in the settings.
Xperia 5 II - The Most Powerful Hardware
Although the Snapdragon 865+ chipset has long been the best technology on the market, they decided to build the Xperia 5 II smartphone based on the Snapdragon 865. This is not exactly a bad thing, since there is not much difference between the processors and it is only noticeable in synthetic tests.
It is much more important that the company has thoroughly worked on cooling the device and built in graphene plates to reduce the temperature, adding an item with H.S. thermal control to the device settings. With regard to memory - 8 GB of RAM LPDDR5 (for pure Android 10 and the future Android 11 is enough), and a permanent 128 GB UFS 3.0. It supports external microSD cards for up to 512 GB.
Xperia 5 II - Cameras for Professionals
The smartphone is equipped with a triple main camera:
12 MP wide-angle module (16 mm, 1 / 2.6 inches, Dual PD AF);
Standard 12 MP module (24 mm, 1 / 1.7 inches, Dual PD AF, OIS);
12 MP TV camera (70 mm, 1 / 3.4 inches, PDAF, OIS).
The company did not pursue super-high resolution matrices and left the classic 12 megapixel for all photo modules. But for better photo and video quality, high-quality Zeiss optics with Zeiss T coating are used - it provides less glare, increases contrast and provides natural color reproduction.
The standard photomodule received large pixels of 1.8 microns in size with missing sores in the form of a rolling tent and high-speed data readout from the matrix. The downside is that the full potential of the camera cannot be revealed by a standard application: for videographers, you will need Cinema Pro, and for photographers, Photo Pro. The Xperia 5 II is the world's first capable of 4K @ 120 fps video recording and high-speed shots up to 20 fps! Shooting in RAW mode is also included. The front camera can offer 8 MP with f/2.0 and bokeh mode.
Xperia 5 II – Battery and Other Features
Finally, Sony has joined the pool of manufacturers by maximising its battery life. The novelty received a powerful 4000 mAh battery. Fast charging is present, but the manufacturer does not disclose its potential power (probably up to 25 W).
The device can work in 5th generation networks, and its 3.5 mm jack has eliminated the problem of crosstalk, due to which the sound in the headphones has become even better. There is support for Hi-Res audio and LDAC codec, 350 Reality Audio playback.
Recently, Samsung has introduced the eighth flagship of 2020 and named it Galaxy S20 Fan Edition. The company positions the device as a full-fledged high-end smartphone, but with some limitations. The peculiarity of the device is that in essence, it is a slightly modified version of the original flagship Galaxy S20. We decided to figure out how the Fan Edition differs from the classic Galaxy S20 and whether or not, it is worth purchasing.
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE - Smartphone review
Based on the characteristics and the cost of the device, it becomes clear that the new product is intended to increase the number of fans of the Samsung brand. That is, the brand seems to be hinting due to the affordability of top-end 2020 device from the A-Listed company. In theory, this should be successful, but how it will actually be, we will only know after a few months time.
In turn, we decided to compare the original Galaxy S20 with the new Galaxy S20 FE, so that you can clearly understand what the differences are and whether or not, the cost of the released modification is justified.
Galaxy S20 FE vs. Galaxy S20 - Screen
Galaxy S20 - 6.2 inches Quad HD + Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O (3200 x 1440), HDR10 +, refresh rate up to 120Hz;
Galaxy S20 FE - 6.5 inches FHD + Super AMOLED 2X Infinity-O (1080 × 2400), HDR10 +, refresh rate up to 120Hz.
The most important and noticeable change lies in the display resolution - instead of a 4K screen, the new product has a Full HD + matrix. Moreover, the screen is slightly enlarged and the type of matrix is changed to a cheaper one. What's the bottom line? In fact, the changes are not critical and have no significant effects for the average users.
On the contrary, lowering the resolution will have a beneficial effect on the battery. The detail will not suffer since 405 ppi pixel density is quite enough. As for the matrix itself: Dynamic Amoled is slightly better than Super Amoled in brightness and contrast, but then again, this is an almost imperceptible simplification. Considering that the scanning frequency remained the same, 120 Hz, we can safely say that the display in the Galaxy S20 FE is excellent and is not inferior to that in the Galaxy S20.
Galaxy S20 FE vs. Galaxy S20 - main and front cameras
First and for most, the new smartphone has significantly increased its resolution, but in fact, the front photo module is more advanced in the Galaxy S20. This is explained by the fact that 10 MP is enough for photos and videos on the front camera, while it also has fast autofocus. But the Galaxy S20 FE does not have autofocus and there is no improvement from 32 MP. On the other hand, both cameras are good for selfies and video calls.
Galaxy S20 - 10 MP, Dual Pixel autofocus, F2.2;
Galaxy S20 FE - 32 MP, F2.2.
The situation with the main camera is even more interesting: two of the three photomodules in smartphones do not differ at all. The changes affect only the third camera responsible for zooming. As a result, the Galaxy S20 FE received a 64 MP TV camera, and the Galaxy S20 has an 8 MP telephoto module. Both have 3x zoom, but the former has a hybrid (64MP crop), and the latter has an optical one due to its telelens.
What's better? We can say that it is a draw, since the hybrid zoom is inferior to the optical one, but the Galaxy S20 has a darker aperture on the camera, which worsens its properties when shooting with insufficient light.
Galaxy S20 - 12 MP ultra wide angle with F2.2 (120 degrees); wide-angle 12 MP with F1.8 (Super Speed Dual Pixel autofocus, optical stabilization); 64 MP telephoto with PDAF and F2.0 (optical stabilization, hybrid 3x zoom);
Galaxy S20 FE - 12 MP ultra wide angle with F2.2 (123 degrees); wide-angle 12 MP with F1.8 (Dual Pixel autofocus, optical stabilization); 8 megapixel telephoto with F2.4 aperture and 3x optical zoom.
Galaxy S20 FE vs. Galaxy S20 - memory and performance
By this parameter, the device is practically indistinguishable. The fact is that both have the top-end Exynos 990 chipset with all that it implies. But the amount of RAM varies - the Galaxy S20 FE has 6 GB, while the Galaxy S20 has 8 GB of RAM. Considering the difference in cost, this is generally normal, and users are unlikely to notice the lack of 2 GB, since this will be minimally reflected in everyday work.
Galaxy S20 FE vs. Galaxy S20 - battery life
According to the parameter, the clear leader is the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition. It was equipped with a 4500 mAh battery, while the S20 rival only has 4000mAh. One should not expect a significant increase in its battery life. Wireless and 25W fast charging are available on both models.
A few days ago, Apple held its annual fall presentation of its new gadgets. However, due to the fact that the coronavirus is still raging in the world, the event was pre-recorded on video. However, the main star of the show, the iPhone 12, was not presented. Instead of a new smartphone, Apple showed off other devices, including smartwatches, new tablets and new services. We will then summarize what Apple presented on September 15 during the fall event.
Apple Watch Series 6
New sixth generation smartwatch is first introduced in the presentation. The device includes a pulse oximeter, which is responsible for determining the amount of oxygen in the blood in just 15 seconds. Through an internal notification system, blood oxygen saturation can be monitored throughout the day. However, the watch has lost the Force Touch technology, that is, the device no longer recognises the pressure force.
The watch also boasts new dials, and they have been revamped to be able to display the position of the sun, shooting parameters which is useful for photographers. Interesting and customisable dials, which are animoji without original faces, which displays the current time.
Inside the Apple Watch Series 6, the S6 chipset, based on the Apple A13 Bionic, shows that it is 20% faster than Series 5. The display brightness has also improved in Always-On mode - 2.5 times better than its predecessor. Series 6 has a new high-precision altimeter. In terms of the design, there are a few changes, but there is one important detail - monobralet, a strap without a buckle has appeared. It is made of silicone, leather or woven material.
However, the kit no longer includes a charging cable and power plug. This decision is explained by the concern for the environment. The start of sales will officially begin on October 2020.
Apple Watch SE (Special Edition)
This device is affordable in all respects - it is intended for those who wish to try the Apple Watch without spending a lot of money. The device is powered by the Apple A5 processor used in Series 5. Statistics and data from the smartwatch can be broadcast to mobile gadgets such as iPhone and iPad, as well as to the Apple TV set-top box.
Fitness+ - Service for Sports
The Apple Fitness+ service provided is responsible for providing personalized recommendations and workout plans. Outside Russia, its launch will take place on November-December this year, and in the Russian Federation either in 2021, or never at all.
Apple One as a single subscription to all company services
A single subscription includes four services, Apple Music, TV, Arcade and additional space in the iCloud. Apple One is priced at $ 14.95 / month, or $20 when connected to a family subscription.
8th Generation iPad
The brand new budget tablet PC with stylus support has received a familiar look and will go on sale in three colors: Space Gray, Gold and Silver. The main tablet is the Apple A12 Bionic chipset, which includes 6 processor and 4 graphics cores, as well as the Neural Engine. iPad 8 is 40% more powerful than the previous model in terms of its CPU and 2 times faster in processing 3D graphics.
The device is equipped with a 10.2-inch Retina display with a resolution of 2160 x 1620 pixels with a peak brightness of up to 500 nits. You can work on the tablet with Apple Pencil, though only its first version. The kit may include one of the physical keyboards: either a proprietary one from Apple or an analogue from Logitech. iPad 8 features a Face Time slap camera and an 8MP main camera.
It has 10 hours of battery life usage, and you can charge the tablet using the included Type-C cable.
4th Generation iPad Air
The iPad Air has a design similar to that of the iPad Pro - thin bezels around the display of the same size, the absence of the Home key button (it has moved to the power button). The basis of the device is the super-efficient Apple A14 Bionic, which gives up to 40% power superiority compared to the previous model. At the same time, the video processor has become more powerful by 200%.
Just like the top-end iPad Pro, the display type is Liquid Retina IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, with 2350 x 1640 resolution. iPad Air 4 has a USB-C port, Smart Connector for keyboard and works well with the Pencil 2 stylus. The main camera in the gadget is represented by a 12 MP photomodule with an f/1.8 aperture and can shoot video in 4K resolution with support for optical stabilization. There will be 4 colours on sales: Space Gray, Rose Gold, Blue Sky and Green Grass.

The flagship smartphone was personally presented by the head of the company, Lei Jun – he boasted that he and his team had done an excellent job on the appearance of the device, so that the model would really not be ashamed to be called a jubilee. The smartphone was made in different modifications using two types of materials - ceramics and translucent tempered glass. And on the back panel, there are 4 cameras with 120x zoom. There is no information about the dust and moisture resistance of the smartphone, although, it should be present given the cost of the phone. However, the processor in the smartphone is not the newest. It is Snapdragon 865 instead of the latest Snapdragon 865+, which is slightly more powerful due to the overclocked cores and the video accelerator.
The RAM size is up to 16GB of the latest LPDDR5 RAM. It is very important that the MIUI 12 operating system can support such a volume of volatile memory, else, there will be no sense for such a huge RAM.
Fast charging amazes with its power - as much as 120 watts. According to the manufacturer, 23 minutes is enough to fully charge the device from 0 to 100% even with 4,500mAh battery capacity. You can use the smartphone to charge other gadgets that support wireless charging, which is an important feature of the smartphone.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra - Review of the Best Cameras
Many brands look up to the reputable company DxOMark for the quality of smartphones in the field of mobile photography. For several years in a row, DxOMark specialists have been testing smartphone cameras in a variety of conditions in order to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the devices.
What's with the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra? It is currently the best photo flagship in the world. It is only 2 points, but is still higher than the previous top-end Huawei P40. In the DxOMark rankings, it scores 142 total points in photography and 106 points in video, whereas Huawei P40 demonstrates 140 and 105 points, respectively.
The strong point of the device is its 120x zoom and although it is electronic, you can still get a more or less decent photo at values of 50-60x. Among the standard parameters, experts attributed the advantages of a wide dynamic range, exposure control, accurate white balance, color rendition and competent separation of objects from the background when shooting in portrait mode.
There are some drawbacks, but they concern mainly video recording - the dynamic range during video recording is limited, there are artifacts. The smartphone can record video in resolutions up to 8K with a frequency of up to 30 fps.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra - How Popular is the Smartphone
As for the popularity of the smartphone, the first batch of the device was literally swept off the shelves. On the day of the start of pre-orders, the smartphone was longing for by about 40,000 people. There could be more of them, but only stores that took pre-orders had a limited counter. It is reported that the device will not leave China, though it would certainly appear in websites over time.
Recently, Samsung held a large-scale presentation called Galaxy Unpacked which presented many of its new products. The most important devices at the presentation were two flagship smartphones, namely the Galaxy Note 20 and the ultimate Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Galaxy Note 20 sets the benchmark for the Galaxy Note line while Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is a collector of all the advanced development of Samsung. Now, let’s take a closer look at the 2 new flagship smartphones and find out more about the differences between both phones.
Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra Design
Both devices differ little from each other, but in general, their design is quite similar – standard rectangular case with very rough corners, especially in the Note 20 Ultra. The Note 20 has a flat display and a plastic back cover whereas the Note 20 Ultra offers slightly rounded display sides and a glass back. The tempered glass is a new development called “Gorilla Glass Victus” which is significantly superior to the 6th generation Gorilla Glass. There are several colours for the phones: Black, Copper, Pale Green (Note 20) and White (Note 20 Ultra). The enclosure protection is according to the IP68 standard.
Galaxy Note 20 Ultra meets with an advanced matrix called Dynamic AMOLED 2X with an ultra-high resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels on a 6.9-inch display. Gorilla Glass 7 protective glass, 120 Hz refresh rate, but it is available only at Full HD + resolution. Galaxy Note 20 has a more modest display: 6.7 inches, Full HD +, 60 Hz with Super AMOLED + matrices and Gorilla Glass 5. In fact, even though the differences between the display screens is huge, the pictures looks clear and pleasing to the eye.
The set of cameras for both models are also different. As you might expect, the ultra-version of the Note 20 has more advanced sensors and lenses. Now, in more detail:
Galaxy Note 20: 12 MP f/1.8, 1.8 nm pixel size, PDAF autofocus and OIS; 12 VG ultra-wide camera with f/2.2, 1.4nm pixel and OIS; the TV camera has 64 MP with f/2.0 and 0.8 nm, 3x optical zoom and OIS;
Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: 108 MP with a pixel size of 0.8 nm, aperture f/1.8, PDAF autofocus, optical stabilization OIS; 12 MP wide with 1.4 nm pixel, f/2.2 aperture and OIS; 12 MP TV camera with 1nm pixel, f/3.0, OIS, PDAF and 5x optical zoom (there are x10 hybrid and x50 electronic zoom).
Both devices can shoot videos in 8K resolution, and have the same 10 MP front camera with autofocus. It is still impossible to see exactly how the devices are filmed, since Samsung has not yet finalized the software and does not allow bloggers to fully test the photo modules.
Hardware and Performance
In terms of performance, both smartphones are identical to each other, since it is the same chipset - Exynos 990 (8 cores, 2x Mongoose M5, up to 2.73 GHz + 2x Cortex-A75, up to 2.5 GHz + 4x Cortex-A55, up to 2 GHz). The processor is built according to the 7nm process technology and is comparable to the top solution from Qualcomm - Snapdragon 865 (it will be released on this chip only in the USA). Only one thing can be said - the Exynos 990 allows you to play games at ultra-graphics settings and has a safety margin for at least 2 years in advance.
As for the memory, the differences here lie only in the storage size: the Ultra version will receive from 8 to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 256/512 GB UFS 3.1 drive; The Galaxy Note 20 comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of user storage. At the same time, the Note 20 Ultra has an additional slot for memory cards, while the usual Note 20 does not.
Other Device Specifications
Here are the battery capacity for both devices: 4300 mAh for the standard version and 4500 mAh for the ultra. Both devices support 25W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and up to 50% wireless charging in just 15 minutes.
A fingerprint scanner is built into the display. There are stereo speakers with loud sound (Dolby Atmos and AKG), but without a 3.5 headphones jack.
Finally, a few words about the new S-Pen. The biggest news is that the input lag has dropped from 40ms to 9ms on the Note 20 Ultra, while the regular Note 20 has a delay of 25ms. That is, now the stylus has become even more comfortable to work. The color of the stylus corresponds to the color of the body of the purchased smartphone.
Both devices will go on sale by the end of August, and now they can be pre-ordered on our website.
Apple will be introducing the new 12th generation iPhones to the public during an autumn event. There were speculations on the Internet that in 2020, four new devices will be shown: iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. As such, we tried to find as much information as we can that is available on the Internet about the new products and we want to share this interesting information with you.
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max will receive a glass body with an aluminium frame. In turn, the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be equipped with a stainless steel frame. There will be more memory - the minimum amount of user storage will be 128 GB while the maximum user storage is 512GB.
What New iPhones Apple Will Show
On September, Apple will unveil four smartphone devices, three improved 2019 models and one completely new model. For the first time in a long time, Apple will show a device with an enlarged display up to 6.7 inches - the current maximum is 6.5 inches. The iPhone 11 and 11 Pro receivers will have a similar 6.1-inch display. The most interesting novelty will be the base model with a 5.4-inch screen - the iPhone 12. That is, the device will turn out to be a logical continuation of the first generation of the iPhone SE, and users will finally get a real second iteration of SE, albeit under a different name.
Display Options in the new iPhone 12 Series
Earlier, there were information that the basic representatives of the new line of gadgets, namely the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, will receive a standard display resolution with a pixel density of no more than 326 ppi. However, recent leaks from trusted source suggest otherwise. It turns out that the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro will get the same pixel density as the older models with 425 ppi.
The smallest display will have a resolution of 960 x 2079 pixels, while others will have Full HD+ resolution. All four gadgets are guaranteed to receive an OLED matrix, and all Pro modifications will also acquire a matrix refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Apple invented the Display Zoom technology in order to ensure that the images on large and compact gadgets will be approximately the same in scale.
Cameras In The Future 12th iPhone Line-Up
To be honest, little is known about the cameras. There is some general information, but nothing specific. From the main: iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max will be equipped with a LiDAR sensor, which is necessary for the functioning of augmented reality. The two devices will receive matrix stabilization in a wide-angle photo module, which the recently released flagship Vivo X50 Pro can boast of. They will have three cameras in total: regular + wide-angle + telephoto.
iPhone 12 - this smartphone will receive a dual main camera with a regular and wide-angle photo module. At the same time, all devices will be equipped with a new autofocus, in the mechanism of which the springs have been replaced with balls. Why it is necessary is not really known yet, but most likely it is to speed up the focusing time and make the mechanism more reliable.
iPhone 12 Processors And Performance
There is little information about the new chipset, which will be built in all four new devices. What is known: the new processor will be called Apple A14 (Bionic). In terms of power, the new chipset should be 15% more powerful than its predecessor Apple A13, and energy efficiency should improve by 30%. There is unconfirmed information about the passage of the Apple A14 Bionic synthetic benchmark GeekBench, in which the chip scored 4,612 points, which is higher than the powerful A12X installed in the iPad Pro 2020 (4,568 points). Against the background of Qualcomm, such a result looks monstrous at all, since the Snapdragon 865 demonstrates only 3,520 points.
Battery Capacity of Future iPhones of The 12th Series
Rumours regarding batteries and power supplies are somewhat contradictory and may seems a little strange. The fact is that some iPhone 12 will lose the power supply unit (PSU). They said users have old chargers, so why do they need new ones? But this is illogical, since most either sell old gadgets or pass them on to relatives for use, so they do not have any free power supply unit. If the lack of PSUs in the boxes of new iPhones turns out to be true, then this is a failure. The fact is that most will not buy original chargers, especially in the case of the most affordable iPhone 12, and this is the risk of breaking smartphones.
It is also reported that the new gadgets will receive an updated charging cable, namely Lightning - Type-C in a fabric braid. That is, the old PSUs will definitely not fit and there will be a need to buy them if they are not put in the box. In general, everything is strange and not yet clear.
The third piece of news concerns the battery capacity of future iPhones. There is evidence that the smallest representative of the new line will receive a 2,227 mAh battery. 6.1-inch devices will receive a 2,775 mAh battery, and the maximum is prepared for the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max - a whopping 3,687 mAh. In fact, this is much less than last year's iPhone 11, where the minimum battery capacity was 3,050 mAh, and the maximum was almost 4,000 mAh.
Even the fact that the technical process of the new chip will be equal to 5 nanometres instead of seven does not mean to say that the battery capacity will not suffer. After all, the power will grow, and the 5G modem does not really care about the process technology, so the new iPhones will receive less battery capacity than their predecessors.
